Adipose Stem Cells: A Rich Source of Regenerative Potential
Adipose stem cells (ADSCs) are mesenchymal stem cells, i.e. multipotent cells that can generate many different cell types – from adipose tissue to cartilage, including bones, tendons, ligaments, muscles, blood vessels, the nervous system and more.
They can be isolated from the so-called stromal vascular fraction (SVF) and then multiplied in a clean room. Cell expansion makes it possible to produce large quantities of stem cells, for clinical applications, even from small samples of adipose tissue.
Adipose tissue is the main source of mesenchymal stem cells because it contains a high concentration of them and therefore avoids the removal of large quantities of fat. Only 20 cc of fat is enough to obtain, after expansion, the necessary quantity of cells for a treatment.
Why Store ADSCs?
Stem cells from adipose tissue can generate different types of tissues and are considered to be the ideal cells for various clinical applications.
Their use is safe and effective. This is demonstrated by numerous preclinical and clinical studies in which ADSCs have been used for:
- Breast reconstruction
Restoring breast volume and shape following oncological surgery - Nerve regeneration
Following trauma to the spinal cord and neurological injuries - Anti-aging treatments
Combating skin aging and promoting tissue rejuvenation
- Hair loss treatments
Stimulating hair follicle regeneration and growth - Advanced orthopedic surgery
Treating bone, cartilage, and joint disorders - Scar reduction
Improving wound healing and reducing scar tissue formation

What to Store?
The sample to be sent to the Bioscience Institute for the preservation of adipose tissue stem cells consists of at least 20 ml of lipoaspirate.
Bioscience Institute activates the procedure for the collection and transport of the sample by courier. Once in the laboratories, the lipoaspirate is treated according to standardized operating procedures for the extraction, culture, and cryopreservation of ADSCs.
Guarantees Offered by Bioscience Institute
Bioscience Institute guarantees quality, solidity, reliability, and transparency. It has chosen to comply with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standard and to use all the methods and controls necessary to ensure maximum safety of its business.
Quality Standards & Certifications
The Bioscience Institute has chosen to comply with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standard to offer the guarantee that stored stem cells can be accepted and used, if necessary, even in GMP certified treatment centers.
Through compliance with the following certifications, we ensure maximum safety:
• GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
Standardized laboratory procedures and quality control
• ISO Certifications
UNI EN ISO 14644 – 1/2/3/5 and UNI EN ISO 14698 – 1/2
• LBM (Laboratory Biosafety Manual)
WHO FDA compliance for biosafety protocols
Quarantine & Biosafety Compliance
Quarantine is a mandatory biosafety requirement by law (Legislative Decree No. 16 of 2010). Without this requirement, stored cells would be unusable because they lack the biosafety certification.
For this reason, stem cells intended for storage are kept in a temporary storage container until the analyses required by current legislation have given a negative result. Only at the end of this period are they transferred to the final storage container.
This process ensures that all biological material meets the highest safety standards before final cryopreservation.
Direct Laboratory Ownership
As the owner of the cell factory, Bioscience Institute is directly responsible for the work as direct manager of the laboratories where the ADSCs are physically stored.
This means:
✓ Single point of contact for all services
✓ Direct accountability for quality standards
✓ No intermediaries or third-party laboratories
✓ Full control over cryopreservation procedures
✓ Long-term stability and reliability
Contract and Costs
Bioscience Institute, as the owner of the cell factory, is directly responsible for the work as direct manager of the laboratories where the ADSCs are physically stored. We propose a direct cryopreservation contract which allows you to have a single point of contact.
Service Costs
Costs vary depending on the service requested. In any case, they include the first 3 years of ADSC cryopreservation, at the end of which the contract can be extended for another 3 years, upon request and payment according to the price list.
